How to Trim Your Kimono:
How To Trim Your Kimonos
- Use sharp scissors—this is essential!
- Snip the loose white thread holding the fringing together and carefully remove it.
- Try on your kimono to decide how much to trim—ensure it doesn’t drag on the floor.
- Take the kimono off, pull the bottom hem tight, and fold it in half.
- Gather the fringe like a ponytail and secure it with an elastic band.
- Cut off the excess fringe.
- Try it on again; you may need to trim the sides slightly. Repeat until you achieve your desired length.
Happy snipping!
